THE BIRTH OF POPSTROLOGY

hi i’m Jesse!! i’m a 30-something astrologer, cat lover, lesbian, gaylor, etc and i’m sooOOOOooo glad you’re here!

i’m a september virgo sun with a gemini moon (help) and a pisces rising. i first became interested in astrology when i moved to LA from my native Virginia in 2018, but it became a core part of my life in 2022 when i got VERY sick and was bedridden, miserable, and in unbearable pain for most of the year. i turned to spirituality because i needed some assurance that all my pain was for some higher purpose (it was/is!), and the pattern recognition of astrology really scratched my auDHD brain in the right way. in the years since, i’ve voraciously consumed any and all astrology, tarot, and numerology texts i could get my hands on. i started doing free readings for my friends in 2024, and i quickly became aware that this is my life’s calling. (my north node is also in Sagittarius, so, checks out!)

i started my podcast, POPSTROLOGY, in late 2024 after bingeing a series of tik toks hating on ethan slater’s character boq from wicked. i was in a 3-year abusive relationship (with a man, ew) and he disapproved of my interests in astrology, pop culture, fashion, makeup, skincare (?), and just about anything that made me happy. i literally felt like i was living through the witch hunts, secretly reading tarot cards and practicing moon rituals by candlelight. i had been too self-conscious to do anything like this when i was with him and for months after, but the joy these tik toks brought me made me realize - no, this isn’t silly! it’s bringing joy to me, and to others!
